NFT-powered event ticketing system, SeatlabNFT, has announced that it has appointed Paul Kelly as head of global strategy. Kelly was formerly head of commercial partnerships at Ticketmaster where he spent 10 years in various roles.
Kelly began his career in the event ticketing industry as a marketing assistant in 2012. He was promoted through the ranks during his decade-long tenure at the company, going from marketing coordinator in 2012 to head of commercial partnerships in 2021. In that role, he was responsible for the growth and management of more than $10 million in advertising revenue, and over $100 million in partner ticket revenue.
Before joining SeatlabNFT, Kelly stepped down from his leadership role at Ticketmaster and took on a part-time role in the strategic planning project team, where he was instrumental in the delivery of 2022 strategic plans for Ticketmaster Australia and New Zealand.
In his new role, Kelly will be responsible for defining new routes to market and initiatives and growing SeatlabNFT globally through strategic development.

SeatlabNFT recently announced a £1,000,000 ($1,210,425) Event Creator Fund to help artists and event organisers with the cost of running live events.
A growing number of Web2 and Web3 ticketing platforms are exploring opportunities in NFT ticketing as it has become a solid use case for non-fungible tokens to prevent counterfeit tickets. NFT ticketing platforms such as ShareRing, GUTS, GET Protocol, YellowHeart, and Wicket are early movers in the market, while Binance recently partnered with Italian football team, Lazio, to pilot its new NFT ticketing solution.
Earlier this month, NFTgators discovered that Ticketmaster is planning to expand into NFT ticketing as the company had posted job ads on LinkedIn seeking product managers for NFT ticketing tooling and NFT ticketing integrations across several locations in the United States, including New York, Seattle, Austin, San Francisco, Chicago and more.
